This is a
suggested vaccination schedule which should provide adequate
protection at minimum cost. It is not meant to replace the vaccination
regimen suggested by your personal veterinarian. Rather is meant to
provide pug owners with a baseline of knowledge when it comes to
making sure that their pugs are well vaccinated against preventable
diseases.

* These
vaccinations are optional, but my be advisable for dogs at high risk
in endemic areas.
The above
vaccination schedule should be modified under the following
circumstances:

If the puppies
receive no colostrum from the dam, start immunizations at 3 weeks of
age.

Give females a
DHPP booster two to four weeks before breeding.

Some rabies
boosters are required at one year intervals, others at three years.
Follow the instructions of the manufacturer and those of your
veterinarian.
- Local
statutes often determine when boosters should be given.

Parainfluenza
and Leptospirosis vaccinations may be indicated twice a year in
endemic areas.

Bordetella may
be indicated for show dogs, kennel dogs, dogs that are boarded and
others at high risk for exposure to the kennel cough complex.
